    Long lagging movie

    Hey,

I've been making my Flash cartoons for FredtheMonkey.com both longer and more detailed. Well with the latest of the bunch it seems like towards the end it begins to lag and not sync correctly. What the heck am I doing wrong?

I see lots of Flash movies that are very very long in length but don't seem to lag.
Any tips? I tried seaching for something like this on the board seach but it kept freezing up and timing out.
    Thanks!

The only reliable way is to use aftermarket softare, like FlashAmp. It forces movie clip animations to stay in sync using code that is timed to the sound track. Works very well.

Aside from that, sound tracks need to be set to Stream in the Sync dropdown box, to force the flashplayer to drop frames from the animation to keep in sync with the sound. On longer timelines, it starts to wander no matter what you do. If your going to be doing lip sync on a regular basis, then get FlashAmp. It's the only serious way to approach the problem.

FlashAmp, eh? Okay thanks. But doesn't FlashAmp just do all the animation/lipsync for you? With actionscript? Or is there a way to get it to just simply fix the lagging issues without making it do the actual syncing of animation?

    I appriciate the help.

No, it won't fix the lagging issue without actually controlling say the mouth movie clip. You might want to download and try one of the versions, and certainly some of the example fla's to see how they work.

For other audio sync problems, check out this thread:
