I'm supposed to be redesigning a logo for the company i work for.
anyone wanna help?
should I post the current, not so nice logo and get some suggestions?
hmmm?
Ok, here's a brief:
It's a computer consultancy and IT services outsourcing company.
It provides consultancy on network infrastructure setup, security consultancy, systems analysis & auditing, implementation... and technical support and services. The logo should kinda reflect that.
I've attached the current logo. Lemmie do my possible ones.
secondly, i would go for a nice typography logo. there are so many things you want to convey that if try to put them in an icon based logo you'll never achieve it.
i would type the initials in a nice serious font and play with their placement, maybe fusing them. nothing too complicated.
i was told by the Business Development manager (the marketing dude), who says that the globe is a symbol which is too common, and that the more modern logos have a nice symbol (the type you could print out on a "sponsered by" I-shirt or somethin').
He said he likes the concept of global, but I should come up with something less common.
any symbols using the text "CSU"?
help pple. i know there's lots of good peeps out there.
i've already have done one csu.... and yes there are a lot of good people here... but it seems to me you're looking for some one to do the work for you.

do you mean you're going to rip someone elses?
I told you. please post yours first. if you don't show people you're really working on something, and what you need is truly HELP, we will just think you're waiting for a nice design to rip.
just ideas pliz. (i designed that logo by the way). even the site. do a search for my posts, and u'll see that one of my first posts (around september 2000) were concerning that site.
u can giv me ideas, u dont have to giv me your actual images
Here's what you do: Step away from the computer, open your sketch book and sketch ideas. Write the name, doodle symbols, even draw something that you know is the wrong idea. All of that is really just used to open your mind and explore the possibilities it has. Sketch and fill at least 10 pages with ideas. Then, and only then, can you take a look at all of them, and choose some that you think have potential and develop them a little bit more so they are more refined. Then show the client and they will most definitly pick one for you to concentrate on. And I cannot emphasise enough, don't start work on the computer until you are ready to refine it for the client to view. You don't think the same in front of a computer. It's a closed space. Use paper, pens, pencils, paints, anything to really explore the possibilities of the logo.
anyway discussions apart. that's the way i would appoach it.
of course sk8ty is right. you can't design a logo from scratch in front of a computer. is not good.
that's just a direction i think you should head for a serious company.
typography is always a good solution.
creating icon based logos is much more difficult and often tend to end up with a very newb style if you don't have enough experience with them.
