    Fireworks >> trace bitmap?

First off here is the pic I'm working on.

The above is a Fireworks PNG file, thats why file size is high incase wondering. The face is the only non-vector part of it. It's a bitmap.

I know Flash can trace bitmaps into vector images, but I can't seem to figure out how in Fireworks. I'm guessing you can't. Any one know how to? Or even how to export from Fireworks to Flash or Flash to Fireworks? (Flash will import the PNG w/ layers intact)

    Much thanks for any help!

(suggestions of improvments to the image are also welcome ~ I know something needs to be done with the background gradent)

those are pretty simple vectors. this is not a pro response, but i guess that in the time you research the way of tracing those automatically, you could have traced those down manually in flash.
    and with a better quality.

hrmm good point, I havn't tried tracing. using the pencil I'm guessing?

I'll give it a try, thanks

(I would still be interested in a way to use the "trace bitmap" command of Flash for use of the vectors in Fireworks. If anyone knows how. Just for future reference for me.)

either that or the line tool. make a poligonal shape around what you want to trace on another layer.
then get the selection tool and bend the lines until they fit.

    Thanks for the tip nayades

I'm using a "Vector Path Tool" in Fireworks, its working great!
Cleaner looking and adjustable .. and 100% vector which was what I was going for.

    You're the best :P
