I need to bring a real estate logo into the 21 century and my mind is going blank.

The company name is 'The Katsias Company'. It's for a commercial real estate company.

Any help or ideas are most appreciated.

For creativity I usually bust out my sketch book and turn on some good music. I just sketch, not thinking about the logo and after a while I will start to make connections with different shapes, ideas, and styles that I have sketched out. Inspiration can't be forced, you have to open yourself up to it.
