    FLA deleted

Well I had a brain fart this morning and deleted an entire directory which wasnt a big deal as I had a backup of it on a webserver except for the fla of my menu. Ive looked around for software to restore files from an emptied recycle bin but they never seem to find the file I need.

Does anyone know if its possible to convert an SWF to FLA with the actionscript? Or can anyone do it for me? Im really lazy and not looking forward to doing the menu all over again.

If you had norton systemworks you could probably find it on your system. It can dig most things out of exile. Other than that you could buy ******* SWFdecompiler. The full version claims to get the action script. It's less than a hundred bucks if I remember right.

I've used the trial but, not the registered version. Works pretty well but, I couldn't see how it does on script. My fla didn't have much script so it helped me quit a bit.

Yes, its excellent- difinietly worth buying for those stupid accidents.

It does make a huge number of layers, and adds file size, but its pretty easy to reduce.

Yeah, that's my experience with it to. Layers and symbols out the poop hole. It's all good if you kinda remember how you had it to begin with. Easier to put it back together if you don't have to start over totally.

Thanks it worked great, I just tried the demo version. Didnt take me any longer then 10 minutes to get all the actionscript back in there once I had all my symbols and stuff back.

Has anyone tried the registered version that exports the actionscript with it?

Yes, the actionscript is exactly as it was before compile.

Only layers/symbols loose their names- crucially, not their instance names!
