    multiple variables with XML

    I have used .txt files to load multiple variables into my .swfs in the past. I have to use an XML file for this application. I have spent quite a bit of time and come up with very little. Is there someone who can help. I would appreciate the hell out of it. I got the XML into the movie but can’t break it up into separate variables throughout the movie.

    Thanks for your time,
    Gus

    Do you need help with the 'navigation' of the XML file? You've probably figured out something like
    code:

    menu = new XML()
    menu.load("menu.xml")
    menu.ignoreWhite = true
    menu.contentType = "text/xml";
    function menuloaded(success){
    if (success){
    do something cool here
    }
    }
    menu.onLoad = menuloaded

    so to get around it, use things like .childNodes[x]...
    code:

    trace(menu.childNodes[0].childNodes[0].childNodes[1])

    ...depending on how deep you want to go...

    I think that's what you mean... there are other parts like .nextSibling, but I haven't really played with that. have a fiddle with all the bits presented in the AS dictionary in the help file.
