find or take a picture of something leather? Or simply scan it in if that's an option.

You might even be able to create a custom pattern in photoshop, or find one somewhere that you can download for free.

if you just type in leather texture into gogle it comes up with a few

I believe it's a texture in Fireworks. Sandpaper. If you don't have it let me know what color and size you want it and I'll make it for you.
