    [Game] Happy Bonfire night :)

    Hey Kids,

Over in sunny funny Britain ( Home of Football ) every November the 5th we celebrate the execution of a traitor with bonfires, fireworks and standing out in the freezing cold pretending to have a great time.

Well, for all of those of you who aren't over here, and for those that are and just can't wait to have a small child stick a sparkler in your eye tonight, have a little slice of this:

    http://www.wedonicethings.com/

A little promotional game for work.

Basically, press the correct key when the firework is under the sight. And that's it!

    Oh, and P to pause.

Oh, and fill the hi-scores up my young game playing beauties.

Oh, and you'll have to provide your own "Ooohhhhh", "Aaahhhhh" as the fireworks pop.

    Squize.

very nice squize, do you do all these graphics yourself or do you have a designer who does them because they are great. very original gameplay as well.

    good job as usual.

    pure sex.

Tho I gotta point out that that explosion is a bitmap =D way too many particles for realtime, plus it looks the same every time.

That said, it looks frakking awesome!

Great game too, reminds me of a minigame in Wario Ware

    T1ger:
Good work Glad you liked it.

    Kakihara:
Nah, I wish. Rob the creative director here ( @ preloaded ) did them, and very beautiful they are too.
Thanks ( And he's chuffed at your comment too ).

    mrpauly99:
Hmmm may have re-used a little bit of code from UXB
"reminds me of the old hypersports skeet shooting"
Dunno what you mean Guv, never played it before in my whole life *ahem*
"if only youd come and work for us..."
My constant midget talk would soon drive you insane.
Oh, as to the beautiful game. Well I support Blackburn, so I'm not a 100% sure about that

    HumbuckeR:
    Thanks mate

    Tom:
Hopefully the game makes more sense now rather than the 2 day old wip you saw

    Preddy Babe:
Nah, all rendered in real time
Over the weekend I'm hoping to add more explosions ( We've got some stunning looking ones sitting around ). They would have been included in v1 but we did this in just over a week, and then outside office hours for the most part, so something had to give.
There are a couple of scripted particles if it's played on the 7 player. Not many I must admit.
    Always nice to impress you.

    LeechmasterB:
Yeah true. If only there was a "Change Keys" option on the title screen. If only...
Thanks for the input though, loved your GTA engine too.

do you want me to assassinate mark hughes for you squize.

for those of you who are confused he is the blackburn manager and they are far from good at the moment, there is a plus though squize, you should do very well in the coca cola championship.

how long you been coding for squize because you appear to be an expert at this whole coding thing.

ps. what games are yours on the spooks website?

"do you want me to assassinate mark hughes for you"

Give him 'til Christmas. We were pretty tasty agaisnt Liverpool the other week.

"how long you been coding for squize because you appear to be an expert at this whole coding thing."

Ha, not an expert at all. Just seem to bluff my way through things.
Erm, coding since I was 11 on a ZX81, but had a long time in the wilderness years of drink, drugs and sex. 32 now, so too old for any of them, so been playing with Flash since version 5 came out.

Spooks so far, my games are Number Trace and Firewall Hack. I think all the remaining games to come out are down to me too. Sorry, bit of a blur now.

Love the game, great fx. Is the soundtrack from UXB kid?

In a couple of hours, ill be watching the local primary school fireworks display, freezing and listening to all the silly little 7 year olds play with them glowing stick things. how i love nov 5th
your game has at least improved this year

Cool game, excellent effects. I was suprised that you could get that much dynamic movement, especially with the alphas, to work in flash as well as it does. I especially like the sound panning And with real fireworks being set off ourside in the street by those little basta... er, kids, the sound effects were even better

I suck at this game though. 400k is my best so far

    Hey cLanding
Yeah the music is from UXB, I know the guy who did it so it wasn't a problem ( Although it means I've got yet another tune to write for that never-ending game ).
btw, feel your pain mate. After this week, I'm just aiming on sleeping tonight, hopefully through to Monday morning. I'm a bit firework-ed out.

Jon, never be suprised at how much dynamic movement I can get out of Flash
    All I'll say is "pre-calculated".

To be perfectly honest I am pretty suprised myself 'cause everything seems to have an alpha.
Little tip ( And something that the wiki should be built for if nothing else, tracking all of Flash's quirks ), using _alpha on 24bit alpha png's screws them up big time.
