    Saving an Entire Website

    i was wondering if anyone has ever come across a good/FREE program that allows you to save an entire Website ?

    i've tried using Adobe Acrobat to save entire site, but cant get it to work quite right.

    any help?

    Get Mozilla FireFox browser, and install Spiderzilla plugin to it, works like a charm...


    remember those pr0n sites will make you go blind

    Yeah - but that will only save what it can find right? It will only find stuff linked from the home page? So if you saved a file on your server and didn't it link to it from anywhere, it wouldn't find it?

    Is that right?

    i have FF browser, but will will this Spiderzilla plug-in download entire website???
    i guess i'll just have to try it out.

    yup, although the startpoint of where you spider from doesnt necessarily have to be the root file for the domain, obviously, you could start from anywhere.

    will these programs saves swf files and movies etc, or just text and pictures?

    download wget if you are running windows, and type 'wget -m url' at a command prompt where url is the site you are downloading.

    Spiderzilla surpasses so far all other proggies I've tried

    it's really customizable, but you have to take a tour first before you start customizing it, if the website you're trying to capture has many levels, it could be a real Hard Disk space monster, so make sure you look around before you start the mirroring

    you can fool around with the "How Many Levels" and "What Domains" and of course the number of retries, best thing is it opens a command window in the back to show you the progress and it rarely affects the performance of my Old crappola machine...
