hi there peoples, i made something in photoshop today. I normally am only working in flash and am an actionscripter, but today for the first time i made something from an original picture and tried to convert it into something new in photoshop. I really would like to know if it is any good, cause i dont know where i stand with my photoshop skills. I did not use filters, except for some add noise.

well its very hard to see what you did on the picture since we dont see the original it looks like you added couple extra layers with some texture on it
but in the end its what you try to comunicate that counts
nice rendering ... although its freaking me out

I used a lotta layers , masks and brushes. I didnt use any filters, except for the add noise filter. I also didnt use any layer styles and imported no other stock photo's other than the girls face. Just brushes, colors and masks and a whole lotta tweaking.

good job. my advise is here:
1-the picture is too dark
2-I think that the hair in the front of her face should be removed because I didnt undertand what were those lines untill i saw the original

Youre right about the darkness, i had some other ones that were a bit less dark, but its indeed a bit on the dark side.( a lotta bits actually ) About the hair you are totally right too, i will try to remove it in my next run on this pic. It looks a bit odd because of that.

Yeah I'd agree with removing the hair in front of her face, and maybe make it a bit lighter.
