yes they do if you use ADOBE IMAGE READY. if you have an animation sequence you can export every frame as its own png file.. but the thing is if you have 50 frames you will end up with 50 .png files instead of one file like a .gif

fireworks does not support animating and exporting in .png files.
i know its frustrating. but try gif. the only problem i have with .gif is its transparensy compatibility. so i was guessing that you dont like this either and that is why you want to use .png?

Try exporting an animation in the Flash format. I have done this myself but I must warn you: If you have a really long animation, you're going to end up with a big file size.
