    Exclamation

I am making a site in flash and my .swf is 450Kb. it takes forever to load. Is there any way to reduce the size of this without cutting the .swf into multiple .swf's? Also I made an awsome loading screen but its 600kb because of the detail in the pictures. So I really need to reduce my file size if I want to put what I want on my site. Thanks.

    Cool Optimize it

There is not one method for dramatically reducing size,
But literally hundreds of methods and depending on your swf is which method/s are best to use.
But for starters examine how you are utilyzing symbols and fonts, Then look at how you are optimizing imported media (sounds and graphics).
I would spend more time optimizing my swfs, than what I spend in open creation.
The reason for this is : Many folk will never see your 450kb swf as it so slow to d-load, but a 90kb swf that is also intelligently streamed will catch everyone.
Note : Optimizing can cause quality loss, but with practice you can minimize this problem.
