I am using MX2004 Pro; In the first frame of the main timeline I have got the following:
zipper.gotoAndPlay(2);
stop();
The target MC goes to frame 2 (where I put in a Trace so I knew it worked) but stops at frame 2, instead of continuing to play. (I have a stop(); command on frame 1 and frame 40 of the target MC.)
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not supposed to do that, is it?
Wonder if my program is bugged...or if they changed something in AS2.
This is just a basic test I created with a trace("frame 2 reached") on frame two of the target mc. Still not working right. It should be though, right? Maybe I need to reinstall flash.
There are ways to get it to work, but I guess where I am getting confused is that I thought you could always have a clip stopped in it's timeline and then control it from another source whether it be from the main timeline, _root mc, or button, etc.
It just seems odd to me that you have to put a play() command in the timeline of the target MC. Has it always been that way?
I am not sure but I found your movie a little strange, because as far as i can remember, I haven't encountered that issue before. Maybe because you have tweens. Anyways, you can solve your problem by doing this:
