movie problem

I need to copy and paste a load of layers/frames etc...into a movie clip, to help tidy/organise my FLA file.

I can do it OK, but when I paste into the new movie the end point for the individual layers is ignored and I end up with every layer ending at the same point.
How do I stop this happening.

I would be happy to know the answer to this one.
I usually just delete any frames added.
