design composition/ colour check

Hi, just putting this "check" up to see what you guys/gals think, before I XHTML'*** its ass. This is the layout/ colour design for my blog/gallery/projects etc. What you see it the index layout, run on Movable Type (incase you didnt notice ), so a lot of this will be done with css. The right hand side is liquid, but maxed out at 900px (as shown).

Overall i like the colours, but I couldnt really find any more than 2 main ones (saturated blues, slightly saturated browns) that go well with this. I tried several pinks, but they didnt seem to go too well with the browns.

Anyway, the logo isnt set in stone yet, got some more ideas in the pipe. Also thinking of changing the <a> colour to a dark brown.

I like it. it's not very original, but within the trends is very competent.

i'd love to see that calendar working in flash or css with nice and simple rollovers.
