    variables

    Hello,

glad to see that 3dfa is going on. I Like the program much.
    I have a question about a variable wich i don't onderstand.
I make a edit box and called it as variable var1.

When i start typing in the box and let the text write to a text file on the server 1 can type about 250 letters. After that i can't write to the file anymore. Is it possible that a variable in 3dfa can not be more than 255 positions ? And if so is there a way to get over this. Because i want to use it on a site i'm making for a colleage.

You may have a look at ww?.hanneruiter.nl thats the site and you can see the text on that site. It can be edit by herself. But now she want to write a lot of text to one section and it don't work anymore.

    Any help is great.

Thanks and keep up the good work.
    Rob

It could you are sending the variable as GET try using POST instead. Get variables are limited (8,192 including URL), while no such limit in POST that I'm aware of.

I seem to rememeber there being a limit to a string length in 3dfa in scripting. So that could be as well

Detail how you are sending the variable please and I'll test.

Just tested with Editbox pasted 139252 bytes and sent to server using the line
    root.loadVariables ("http://bretlanius.com/test.php",'POST')
and it saved the file to the server no problem

Had to make sure the directory had write permissions.
