    exporting graphics from photoshop

I noticed that when you view the Properties of an image on a web page, the file size you get is in bytes._ When you open it in Photoshop, the file size is in kilobytes._ So I figured, for instance, that 11,857 bytes would be equal to 11K or rounded to 12K in Photoshop._ But an image I used for who’s file size on the web page was 11,857 bytes showed as 171K in Photoshop.

    Why is that?

    Thanks,
    sp
