I saw it but I can't find it so I am asking. How to make sounds files smaller?

I made my little music banner, but the size of it is not so little. It is 14 megabites and I need to make it small enough to put it into a site that only allows 5mb uploads. Any suggestions?
My thanks to oldnewbie for the help he has given me.

Wav or mp3? Did you try to re-compress it to the lowest acceptable quality?

Mp3 and no I don't know how to compress it. So far I have been using the Help file to make the entire thing. I am kinda newbish at this whole flash thing. But I do learn quick.

    Well, try this...

Double click your mp3 in the Library (CTRL->L).

Uncheck the "Use imported MP3 quality" box.

It should default to the lowest re-compression of your MP3. What does the lowest line say, in terms of Kbytes, compare to your original above?

Next press Test. Is that quality acceptable?

Well, you don't have to accept that lowest quality... You can better it if you wish, and check the file's size while upgrading the quality!

If sync is important, make sure you set your sound's Sync to "stream" rather than "event", usually before you create your animation. If a sound's Sync is set to "stream", you have to add as many frames on the sound's layer as needed to "see" and hear the whole sound's modulations.

As for buttons, depends what you're actually looking for!

    This?
