Us Mac users aren't realists, but idealists, we see the world for what it should be, not for what it is. I seriously can't wait to run Tiger!

    Agreed - Tiger looks fantastic.

iWork hasn't had its praises sung enough... Keynote was damn good already and now its outstanding. Pages looks like a great word processor. And all for £49 :-)

I am defiantly buying a copy.

    speak for yourself, subby.

I'm a definite realist, and it was the real issues with Windows that made me go away from my MSCE background and use MacOSX and Linux at home.

Their machines, maybe idealistic, but the Mac Mini finally opens the doors to not only the "typical joe blow" users that just do very little - think your parents or non-computer savvy siblings - as well as the people that were hesistating to jump over to Apple. they now have a way to test the Apple computer waters, and if they out grow it, they can go up to an iMac, or a G5.

Sounds like Apple finally is offering what I've been ranting for a long time... a computer that's small, useable, and cheap. They did not make the same mistake as the G4 Cube... priced it at 2k, about 1.5k too much. at 500, they can't really do too much harm.

other than it costs friggin' 440 .00 for a damn 1gb stick of RAM!? I can buy a 2gb stick of RAM for that much.

Yeah it looks truly fantastic. I've been waiting ages for Apple to produce something like this. I quite missed Publisher when I moved to Mac, but this is even better! I can't wait until the 22nd of January, it's going to be fantastic.

As far as the Mac mini goes, three of my friends have already expressed a strong desire to own one. Two of them own iPods and the other was convinced when I showed them my PowerBook. I think Apple should be very happy. One of them said they would prefer to have a USB port on the front, but the other pointed out the thing is so small you really don't need to worry.

For Windows to fall to second place will be a long, longhorn road.

PS: Just read that on macrumors after the record quarter announcement of Apple.
