    how to do audio clips online?

    A friend wants me to create a website for him and include snippets of his bands songs....where do i start?

    I'd prefer it if the user clicked a link and the Quicktime player opened automatically and played the song......but am open to alternative options.

    Can anyone point me in the right direction? Ive no idea what format to get his songs from him or anything...

    Thanks in advance

    Mp3s would be the best. To open them in a QT browser player, just link to each mp3 uploaded to the server with...

    on(release){
    getURL("http://www.yourserver.com/yourtrack1.mp3", "_blank");
    }

    Or use streaming soundObjects...

    Or use one of these players...

    thanks Old Newbie,

    That all sounds pretty simple and straight forward...ill look into all those links.

    One other question....how does my friend get his songs into an mp3 format for me?

    In what format are they now? Can't he output them as mp3s? They should have a bit rate in increments of 11 (11, 22, 44, etc.)only and 160kbps tops!
