I was just discussing this with someone.

"They're absolutely alive," Professor Montemagno told BBC News. "I mean the cells actually grow, multiply and assemble - they form the structure themselves. So the device is alive."
    pretty freaky.

I read another article about DNA that would react to chemicals and worked as a circuit. A 'mesuring' gene would mesure the amount of chemicals, and pass on a protein to two other genes, a 'max' and a 'min' gene. If there was more than a certain amount of the proteins then the 'maxumum' gene would produce proteins and the 'min' gene would not, and if there were less than a certain amount the 'minimum' gene would produce some proteins and the 'max' gene would not. Then there would be abunch of 'light' genes that glow when certain proteins are present. If there are only 'max' proteins then a red version would glow, if there are both then a yellow version will glow and if only the 'min' protein is present then a green version will glow. This way if they spread bacteria with those genes inside on a mine field then ares with mines would glow red and areas without mnies would glow green.

I've already seen some very interesting things in my lifetime.

PS: What I'm really waiting for are quantum computers, they will be able to do things instantly, things that todays computers would not be able to to in a million years, even if you would connect all existing computers together.

I for one think that future weapons of war will include biological or living parts.. take for example the brain of a spider. imagine a giant spider 20 meters tall with a body made from a mix of titanium and carbon fibre with his normal muscles. imagine wiring it's brain to a supercomputer and making the whole thing controllable by satelite. It could navigate any land and move at unstoppable speeds and kill anything that stood in it's way.. just a thought.. we're getting really good at cloning and changing genes and DNA. very possible..

I want a computer that does things even before I ask it to. Actually... I prefer a computer that does everything without me asking it to anything.

    damn... thats me redundant then.
