What do you think it takes to be s star.

I think this girl kelly will be gone in two weeks, she's got a good voice but she's as interesting as Kate & Ashley Olsen.

Take the biggest starts right now who have medeochre voices, eminem and britney spears, its all about controversey.. remeber tyson vs lewis they became stars over night to the world because of hype.

American idol was interesting in the begining and that judge made the whole show.. but the winner was a cutesy, fake, boring person.

Mediocre TV is the opiate of the masses.

(Wait a minute - did someone already say that? Nahhh...)

Yeah, I see there's a lot of fat-faced, pseudo blonde chicks with $20 necklaces and bad voices going around these days.

(API was a sad, talentless talent show that got all the trailer trash middle US really hyped, evidently.)

The Olsen Twins are actually a fairly hot comodity right now...go figure.

This Girl might make a couple of hits but yeah I agree she won't be around too long.

I can say that about most of what has been comming out lately- We wont care or remember in a few years.

The entire show was hard to stomach as it was somewhat talented and untalanted singers just recycling old Pop songs within the last 40 years or so... none of them really took to many chances by singing really old material or brand spanking new material and certainly none of them had their own material.

Who's that girl, Avril something... now she's only 17 and won a Grammy. Not a bad song too, if I do come out of my musical shell to say it.

That show would've, should've been proud to have her (or someone of that talent level) on, but kids with real talent wouldn't be seen dead on a farce like that.

To be honest if the RIAA really wants to see why sales have been lagging last year, besides the Obvious- We are in a frigging recession and just about every non esential thing is down- DOH, then looking at this show and Popstar produce factory Boy Bands and Factory Girl Bands is all they have to do.

Sure if you manufacture a band they may have temporary sucess but for how long. Since they mostly sound all the same and the materials produced are copy catted off one another why do they think the public would continue to purchase it? Exactly how many days a week can you eat Big Macs- sure there is someone out there that would happily eat them every day but most people will have a bad taste in their mouths after about a week and will refuse to buy them afterwhile- Same thing here. Afterwhile it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

This girl doesn't have much of a chance at lasting...

Look at the *huge* pop stars of 2 years ago...they are all about dead.

    N'SYNC
    Backstreet Boys
    Christina Aguillera
    Britney Spears
    Etc..

    lmao she should not!

I resisted watching it 'til the very last episode ... I was on a local board and of course all they could talk about was this chick Kelly Clarkson from Burleson and how great she was ad nauseum ... I tuned in ... and tuned out ...neither she nor that dude had a voice that appealed to me at all ... I was sort of surprised that this was the best they could come up with <shrugs> - course I can't post this on my local board - they'd hang me!

MarkP - if you enter - you will win ... if you enter - you will win (sorry - Field of Dreams was on recently) ... how did it go, babes? You know I love your music!

If she has any chance at all of lasting then let her sing her own songs, the ones she claims she can write, or give her wide discretion on who songs she chooses to make without cutting her distribution. They won't do that becuase it would produce unkwon sales over the sales they think they will get otherwise.

Worst thing that ever happened to American music was when the music producers indirectly gained control of all the distribution chanels and radio stations.

    No chance, no way.

All of the afore-mentioned clifg favs (sorry clif, I know you can't stand 'em - just like poking fun ) except for a minor few... as soon as they start to write their own 'stuff' (because their written-for egos and publicists demand it) crash and burn like Concordes at Charles de Gaulle.

Why? - nutty as it may seem, but even the teeny teens can recognize blatant garbage when they hear it.

(Speaking of Garbage, now that's a good band)
