Spaces in art file names...
Hi,
I have spaces, commas, and other non-kosher characters in the filenames of art that i've imported into Flash, eg:
"nav btn,lit,106px.jpg"
After importing them into the Flash file's library, the bitmaps keep the same name. I've used more proper and conventional naming methods for when I convert the bitmaps into graphic symbols.
My question:
Is this okay? (I hope so, because I've done a lot of work so far on this file.)
Thanks,
-Todd

There shouldn't be any problem with that.
Flash uses the the graphic symbol names within the flash player and the original names of the jpgs etc will be kept in the fla doc to help with your asset management.
P.S.
Wouldn't life be easy if Keyboards had a "Make It So" button?
It could sit next to the "Any" key!!

It wouldn't hurt to change your habits. Just start using lowercase, no spaces and no special characters in file names. It will help in html and on your server too, not just flash.

Understandable from someone who admittedly doesn't like typing!

Yeah, or doing things twice. Took me hours to find a problem one time after uploading with WS_FTP. Apparently it and my server conspired to change certain file names from uppercase to lowercase, and the flash path names quit working. Very frustrating.
