Need help with mx 2004 uiscroller component

I don't know if anyone can help me but here goes...

I am working on a project that ha movieclips loading into movie clips (this is for the website's sections) in a section I am loading a varible from a php script which is grabbing text from a database. The issue I am having is that I am using the MX 2004 uiScroller component because the amount of text is more than the text box can display at one time. It is programmed to display the arrows and scroll tab only if the text box has more text in it than can be displayed. The issue is that sometimes it it is enabled and sometimes it isn't. I am guessing that the peoblem is that not all the text has loaded into the box before the scroller does it's initial check. It sees no text and so doesn't display.

What can I do? should I put several frames in between the text boxe's keyframe and the scroller?

r u using dynamic text, or loading an external movie ?

And what are you using to load the text in Flash? LoadVariables or LoadVars()?

LoadVariablesNum() is what I am using. And yes, it is dynamic text. Why? does that make a difference?
