Importing sounds to Library
Hi all!
I am a new joiner, and, first of all congrats for this wonderful website, so full of valuable information!
I just downloaded a trial version of Flash MX, and I am evaluating whether to purchase it or not.
I have a small problem, though: whenever I try to upload a sound file in a Library, the program returns an error message saying that one or more files could not be uploaded due to reading problems... What is that about?! It's so frustrating!
This way, I didn't have any chance to evaluate the way the tool manages sounds yet!
Thanks to anyone who can provide some hint...
PS: the issue only occurs with sound files (I tried with, wav, mp3, etc...)

Have you tried both Import & Import to Library under File?

What do you mean by "upload sound in library"? If you want to use sound file in flash, you can import it by click File > Import > Import to Library. Once it is in library, you can drag it to the timeline for streaming or event sound.

Did I basically say something different?

Yes, actually, I didn't express myself correctly (also, consider that I am using Flash MX in Italian, meaning that I do not know exactly how to translate specific terms...).
Anyhow, what I tried doing is just importing files in my library - which is what I meant by "Uploading"... - using File > Import > Import to Library.
So, I came to the conclusion that this might depend on using the trial version of the program: do you think this is possible?
Thanks for advising!

I ever had the same problem when I modified a mp3 file using Cool Edit. I guess it's the bit rate or something about mp3 settings that can not be recognized by flash. Otherwise there whouldn't be problem for importing mp3 files. And I don't think it's because you are using trial version

Thanks so much, it is actually like that!
I just found out by chance that it was all a matter of Flash not "recognizing" any of the sound files I was trying to import...
In fact there was only one file among the many with which I've tried, which Flash allowed me to import correctly.
Now my question should be rephrased this way: what features should a sound file have to be recognized by Flash (it's not only about having a bitrate multple of 11, as this was not enough for my files to be accepted!)
Thanks a lot!
