    2A AIGA reel

Someone posted something about flash demo reels. 2A has a bunch but they also have a new one for AIGA which is a montage (sp?) of their work over the past few years. Very nice stuff.

There are a couple of new things here and there as well.

aight.....gimme a link to something that will drop my jaw on the floor then.... since I apparently haven't seen it. I see people say stuff like that all the time on here in the last few days I've checked it...and the stuff I've seen has been extremely good... but there's people saying stuff like this or like "well, it's ok, but not nearly THAT good" and they don't post links to anything that they think is "THAT good"....so what gives?

Not bein a jerk, just wanna see what I'm missing out on is all.

oh, just in case you don't see what's so incredible about the video i encourage you to make some research on the ad.

you'll become surprised when you know gene kelly's face is the actual-original recording. the way they fuse original camera angles of his face with the new ones is just jaw_on_floor"ish".

that reel is just a bunch of after"effects", nothing difficult at all.

my jaw didn't come close to dropping on that....

btw, are you saying that this is a cool 'flash' site?? I'm confused...I don't see flash in that at all... I think the coolness of it is that they used premiere and after effects probably... or something in that line right?

I wasn't impressed like I was expecting...mainly due to the fact that it wasn't flash I guess. Sure, it was good, but not jaw dropping

Come on, show me something that will floor me

Btw, they've been doing stuff like that for years haven't they?

I agree with you it's cool...no doubt about that. Yes, while watching it I did see that it was the original face that they put on the 'other' dancing body to make it look like HE was really doing the dancing.... very cool, but not necessarily 'new' is it?

I wasn't 'wow' like I thought I would be. Yes, the technology is wow, but the presentation wasn't 'wow' ....more like 'haha, that's cool how they put his face on that body dancin, isn't it funny!' at the same time.

well you can take for granted the advetising company that did that ad got an enormous amount of money for doing it. and not precisely because it was funny, but for the great complexity it implies.

2a's demo reel wouldn't make 10 bucks compared to that.

the result seems so simple that that's why it's so good.

and... 2a's video wasn't flash either...it's a .mov, so i don't understand why you were expecting flash... i just showed a piece of video to compare it with another.
    quite clear me thinks

a flash intro? webfeats. no doubt. classy at it's best.
'tis a pitty he idolizes 2a for this... he could have done it far more attractive.

Well, I understand where you are coming from when you say that the 2a thing was a movie, yes, but that movie had LOTS of flash stuff in it, know what I mean?

it was a demo movie clip of a bunch of the stuff that they've done, and there was tons of flash elements in it, even if it was a movie, the original was done in flash...that's what I was commenting on.

    same page now?

yeah. same page. however, those flash parts you talk about are just their well-known work. not even that "cool". so i guess what matters here is how they brought together a group of nice, good quality ( but not jaw breaking), flash into a normal demo reel.

that's why i said mrwebfeats was exaggerating.

the work they show is not new to him, so he probably was talking about how did they fix all the pieces together into the reel. which is nice but not impressive...

    from my point of view.

you can't compare the vlkswagon add to the 2a demo reel, the only thing they have in relation is they are in movie format. These are two completely different concepts and you can't compare, well you can if you like, but is a waste of time, f you are going to post something that is more impressve than the 2a showreel it would have been more appropriate to post a showreel from another deign agency, as you might as well have just posted a short clip from the latest battle scene in the Matrix revolutions and tried to compare that!! get me?

The 2Advanced reel was cool. They are consistent in their production.

The Golf GTI commercial was cool. It made my wife and I laugh. It was well done, and obviously complex technically.

It reminded me of how much I liked Element 79's commercial 23 vs. 39.

You can find production info here on ESPN.

hah... love how they put some of the v.2 site animations on there. It was good, maybe not jaw on the floor but definetly a hell of a lot of work.
