flash 5 to flash mx

having trouble learning flash mx... I am used to using flash 5.. flash mx seems to be difficult.. everything is different.. maybe it is easer once you get used to it but anyhow.. my question is how do you add alpha on flash mx... I know this is a simple question and i know how to do it on flash 5 but have no idea how to do it on flash mx.. also on flash 5 the action script had like newbie mode witch was great.. flash mx i donno maybe its for expert newbies lol..

MX only or MX2004?

Normal mode is gone in MX2004!

As for alpha, I'm on MX only, but it should still be the same in MX2004.

Select the keyframe.
Select the symbol on stage.
You should then have a dropdown Color box in the properties.
Alpha is in that dropdown.
