Skewed Dynamic Text?
Hiya, wonderin' if anyone can help me with this...
I'm creating text that sits on one side of a tilted cube. The text needs to look as if it is skewed (to keep the illusion of 3D). The only way I can get it right is by breaking apart the text and doing a manual distort and skew. But I need to keep the text together as I'll be changing it dynamically.
Rotating and resizing the text box just makes it look weird.
I'm not sure if there is a solution.... unless someone has any ideas?
Thanks in advance....
Solange.

you did not mention what software you are using but I am going to assume Flash.
You should not need to break the text, just use the skew tool in Flash and use it on the whole dynamic textbox.

Yep, using Flash MX.
The text is skewed, but a slight deformation is needed on the text box as well. Distort & envelope functions aren't available for text boxes...

ah. I am not much of an expert on Flash but a quick look in Google -- these may help?

thanks for the links, mate.
the forth link seemed interesting... using the actionscript _xscale property to deform a movieclip with a text box in. I think it'll be trial and error to get it right, but of all the limited solutions, I think that's the only one that can do the job.
all I wanted was to create the effect of sitting at an angle whilst viewing writing on a television set, but with the text running dynamically.
guess there's no simple way, but that links's def. a good start.
thanks again,
Solange.
