How to make this cute menu in the easiest way?
Hello!
Check this menu, pls: http://www.canubia.com/home.html
How can I create a menu like that in the easiest way? I don't mean the layout, I mean the idea of how the rollOvers and rollOuts are made. Notice how the animation never "jumps", if you roll over, roll out and then roll over again, the animation just goes on from that point and it doesn't play from the first frame.
I hope somebody understands what I mean.
Thanks a lot!

Hi Poco
I made this fla. to demonstrate a relatively easy way...took me 10 mins...typed 'hello' into a static text box then broke this apart once(Ctrl+B).....put each letter onto a seperate layer and created a staggered tween with stop() actions on first and last frames....
bottom layer is an invisible rectangle graphic acting as the hit area..........this was then all converted to a movieclip and the action script was applied to the movieclip ....a variable (hitting) is initialized ....then the rollOver andRollOut commands cause the variable to switch between true and false.....the onClipEvent enterframe function is checking the variable then depending on the value it sends the playhead forward or backwards using nextframe and prevframe commands....

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but Hum, would you mind telling me how you made your website full screen like that? I have been wondering how to do that for a few days now. Thank you.

endless possibilities
hi i was looking at that site and your ex. of the letters going across like that and i was just wondering, how do they get the letters to 'dart' across like that. im guessing with tweening but if you notice, when the letters get slow at first before the dart across they get darker or heavier or something. How do they do that? It looks awsome how they do that and how they make it so smooth.

Well i loaded my site page via a button into a pop up window that is configured as below......this goes on button that is on index page...code: on (release) {
getURL("javascript:NewWindow=window.open('http://www.yourdomain.com/yoursitepage.htm','newWin','width=400,height=300,l eft=0,top=0,toolbar=No,location=No,scrollbars=No,s tatus=No,resizable=No,fullscreen=Yes'); NewWindow.focus(); void(0);");
}
....though you will need to close the window afterwards...to do this

Hi...
Create thumbnails of your larger images and convert them all to movieclips...the idea is that when the mouse rolls over the thumbnail_mcs ....the action script on them tells the main movieclip
containing your larger images (mainpic_mc)... to go to a certain frame....so for example your larger images reside on seperate keyframes inside this main movieclip like this...
pic1/frame1
pic2/frame2
pic3/frame3....etc
each frame has a stop action on it to prevent the playhead from playing any further......
then on the thumbnail mcs you would put...
code: on (rollOver) {
_parent.mainpic_mc.gotoAndStop(1);
}
obviously changing the frame number
for the corresponding thumbnail ...
