I'm trying to make a preloader... I posted this a few weeks ago but couldn't zip the FLA file...
its a circular shape preloader.. but I don't know how to have the circular tween... counter clock wise...
if some one could help me out that would be great...
Its a tough job but I've seen all over the web... preloaders
that are a shape of ring... kind of like mine but not really..
cause mine is arabic text... but the concept is the same..
to have it load in one direction..
Do you want the letters to fill in blue according to percentage loaded, from the top-right to the bottom right, or do you want the whole arabic text rotating?
yes exactly... to fill the arabic text with blue according to the percentage loaded...
so the arabic text has a frame... the inside color is a mask.. then I have a the circle that is masked.. which the only way I can see it load is by having this counter clockwise motion tween starting with a small section of the circle with a 45 degree angle then it goes counter clockwise (360 degrees)
Still having troubles with the mask (some letters fill in completely), and still problems with displaying a corresponding percentage, but is it somewhat something like this you had in mind?
Well, for the mask, I don't understand why some letters fill in completely (see attachment), and there's no outline as you first had it.
Then (think I since got to work...) I couldn't get the actual percentage 0 to 100% to actually only correspond to the text and not the whole circle... So it would only start appearing at 8% and stopped at 92%... If you understand what I mean...
may be the graphic of the preloader took the first 8 percent to loead... I don't know.. I couldn't look too much into it because you sent me the swf and not the actual fla... so once I play it , I see how it works once.. then it skips..
could you send me the FLA so I can look into the file?

No, I got the percentage thing solved, by cheating, but it works...
I only now want to solve the mask problem, and won't post the .fla until I get it working to my satisfaction...
Meanwhile if you want to have a go at it yourself, I picked up the circular preloading code in this thread...

I started looking at it again and realized that it was like a movie clip.. and that there was a preloader for that ... you did cheat ...
but your right it does work... though I don't understand how some
of the arabic writing is filled like that jpg you send with your indications on where it fills where its not supposed to.. may be I can fix that.. i know arabic and may be when you moved it around some thing happened... that's no problem..
any way....I'm going to work on the movie clip it self.. I have to give this thing to them tomorrow... so if you don't have time to work on it tonight.. I'll put a regular preloader for now with the logo... once you have acheaved your goal tell me
