And now, after dipping into the site some more, there is excellent backend work here to make this thing smooth.

It still amazes me that with achievements like this, we still have people who want white background/black text websites.

True. The problem is a lot of clients don't want to spend the $$ required for fancy sites like this.

Wow! How are those videos looped so smoothly? I have always wanted to know the secret to that.

Most of our loops are a just simple cross fade. Its an easy technique, but hard to explain. One day i will write a tutorial about it. I think I have some spare time pencilled in for 2007
i would really like to learn how you did these perfevt video loops, if you know of any pre exisiting tourtiol on your tecnicque I would very much like to loo at them.

Soft well-designed graphics but personally I don't like too much drop shadows, and like you often say, less is more.

One thing I think can be disturbing is low FPS movies where scrolling feels like syrup.

    soft edges hard to see

I like the site. Great scripting and looping techniques... but I am not a big fan of the low low contrast effect. Makes some of the design/ edges hard to see. They blend together a bit too well.

The looping is undeniably cool, but once again, some of the loops are so low in contrast they hardly appear. By no means am I inferring I could do better, just my opinion.

Great work regardless of my tastes,
    1M.

Well you have to make sure your effect is very small. It cant be many kb's or it will not be possible to prelode until the preloder is loaded.Good luck.
