    Button animation

    I'm looking to make a mouse over animation for my text buttons (the text buttons are symbols) What I want is an effect like a power surge running through the sceen. Like if you turn a tv off and on really quick and the picture distorts. Can anyone think of the best way to do this? There isn't a smear effect with flash is there? Otherwise do you think shape tweening would be best?

    There are very few times when I've found shape tweening the best solution.
