    Button Action Help

    Hi, I'm new to these forums and have been working on a project for school. The project is on the legendary Donald Trump and I have gotten stuck on the buttons. I have them made, but am stuck on the actions part. Whenever I try to add an action such as "nextScene", I get errors.

    More specifically, I typed this in......

    nextScene (Scene 2);

    And this popped up after I tried to play the scene.

    **Error** Scene=Scene 1, layer=Button, frame=15:Line 1: ')' or ',' expected
    nextScene( Scene 2 );

    Total ActionScript Errors: 1 Reported Errors: 1

    I have no idea how to fix this problem as I have been trying for a few hours. Help is greatly appreciated. This is for Flash MX 2004. Thanks.

    You can get away with just:
    nextScene();

    If you want it to go to a different scene, then you'll have to name the first frame of that scene something.

    Then you can call a:
    PHP Code:
    gotoAndStop("scene3start");
    Attached is an example with both methods on a button.

    Sure thing, I'll post it tonight if I get it done in time. If not, it'll be up tomorrow.
