Input from microphone, possible?

Is it possible to recognize sound from the microphone as the program is running?

For example, if there is sound coming from the microphone, then do this and that.

No... Flash does not have the voice recognition.

Cool idea maybe we'll see that in the future.

I am looking for a very simple external program (not the speech recognition ones) that detects sound from the microphone.

For example, if it hears any sound, then press the Enter key. Any ideas?
