How can i achieve this effect?

    Hello all,
Wow Im glad i found this forum.
Could any of you help me to achieve this effect from the link below please:

Its the mouseover effect where you see glimpses of the image below and then when you click it performs a transition.
I want to replicate this for my own website on my photo page. I have made a good search on flash kit for some help and really did not find anything similar. My actionscripting is limited to navigation so i am struggling a wee bit.
Any pointers in the right direction would be great.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Kite,

    This is reasonably straight forward.

You need to make a movie clip mask that follows the x-position of the mouse.

The mask merely displays the secondary image.

    Thanks mate.
Sounds easy enough. Do you know how the code would roughly go. Once i have somewhere to start then i find it alot easier to play with different settings for varying effects.
    Thanks again.
Im off to a wedding now so thanks in advance for additional help.,

I would advise that you first source your two images.

Then get the masks sorted out.

Once you have that, just get the mask movie to follow the x-position of the mouse and you're pretty much done.
