Need help with a simple drop down menu, please!

I've been fighting with a very simple drop down menu system.

Roll the mouse over the menu item, a few more items appear below it. No transitions, just pop, roll out they go away.

I can get the appear dissappear to work but when I do that I have to over lay a hit box over the button and popup area to keep them showing. When I use this approach I can't get the buttons to work they seem to be undetectable behind the "hit box".

I've got the menu system working but still have an odd flicker when the mouse enters the hit area for each button. Any common causes of this flicker?

to me the link comes as corrupt link...

making a guess i think u need to create a invisible button layer( lowest layer ) equal to ur pop up leagth and width in side ur movieclip button.
