    Listener question

    Hello all,

Wonder if anyone can give me a tip...

I have an mc which is a simple square called 'square_mc'- the square's height and width change. i would really like to create another 'square_mc' which listens for the width and height of the first 'square_mc' and sets its _x and _y accordingly, i.e, so it centers to the first 'square_mc'.

I really would like to do this as a listener as i've never used this technique before

    thanks

    Hey,

Depending on the situation, using listeners might not be the best approach but since you really just kinda want to learn about them then why not, it's a good place to start..

I'm not sure if this is what your after or not but i think you'll get the idea, i tried to comment some. It takes a little getting used to working with listeners but once it clicks, you'll see there's not a whole lot to them and they can be very useful..

    file is mx2004..

let me know if you have any q's...

    hope this helps some,
