it's like a social network, but for links.
you save your bookmarks there, and tag them to categorize them. The you can see what other people have saved, and when.

If you belong to a community, then you can also share links between the community members.

I think it can be nice as a resource for sharing information. As sometimes you know of cool sites, say, about ajax, but don't really deserve a post in a forum. But this way, everything you tag as Ajax, will be displayed there. So it can turn into a nice knowledge base.

it's not a community, it's all links from everyone tagged as webdesign. It is nice, but it comes from everyone in there, so there has to be trash in there.

to form a community, you basically send invites, or add someone as your "buddy". Then, it's just about the same as the page you posted, but limited only to the ones inside your buddy list.

I know it's not the same thing but I wanted to point out www.google.com/ig if people haven't seen it. I use it as a home page and I love it, I can put anything on there that has an RSS feed.
