    scary virus email

    This email seems to be completely customized for me, thats the scary part.

    Has anybody else gotten something like this before?

    No, but I got a scary one too the other day from an email@earth-link.net or something like that. my provider is earthlink.net... it went on to talk about How earth-link is updating it's records and I need to click some link... very deceptive... I can see how somone might click it and be fooled.

    lol, it even has my freakin username and the domain is inserted all over the place. I don't know if this was automated or somebody sat there and wrote that email. I would feel much better if it was automated somehow.

    i keep getting emails at work with my fullname@some-organization.org. The mail domain is very deceptive in that it's in the same industry as the one i work in and has a real site and everything. I was very confubulated,still am actually.

    I've gotten that email before, jon. It's kinda freaky but then you realize they probably have some goofy script running that addresses you as the first part of your email (asuming your email is jvalliere at digi) and then take the domain and stick the www in front. I'd just ignore it. I got one a while ago and never got another one since.

    i got it again twice today, funny thing.. i don't know if they have jvalliere@ and info@ or they're just assuming info@ exists. I don't know where they could have gotten jvalliere@ because this is the only board/site that has it.
