Is Gmail SpamSafe?
Ok, probably a dumb question. Is it just like any other email address or is it less prone to abuse via filters and the way it's set up?
I am just wondering which account to use for potential abuse.
1. G-Mail
2. Yahoo 1
3. Yahoo 2
4. Hotmail
5. Any number of POP accounts, that I can set up.
Thanks.

I've never gotten spam in my inbox. Although I'm finally getting spam in my spam folder on a regular basis after about a year or so.

Yea, I don't mean spam proof. I am just thinking manages it well... as in easy to weed it out. Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.
So, PAlexC did you have to set up all kinds of Rules and Crap for Spam to Filter?

Nope. It's been good on it's own so far.

poet and narcisist
i use several accounts according to privacy level.
My public's site address receives about 5 spam messages a day (average, and that is, because it also receives the spam from my blog).
My public public address (for forums and memberships) receives like 500 or more spam emails a week (although they all go directly to the spam folder)
My semipublic address receives about 2 spam mails a week
My work address, only for clients, receives about 0 spam a week
Besides those i manage like 10 other accounts for different purposes, what I do notice is that my yahoo accounts are the ones that receive more spam...coincidence?

Gmail aliases!!!!!
lets say your mail address id joebloggs@gmail.com and goto a website about motorbikes and to sign up for their forum/blog whatever you have to give them your email address, don't give them your propper mail address give them an alias like joebloggs+motorbikes@gmail.com (anything after the + is an alias)
Now go and set up a filter to filter any email sent to joebloggs+motorbikes@gamil.com ot get put into your trash folder.
So now when they send you crap it gets put into the frash folder.

Too bad it's only a matter of time before spammers do regexp for '+'.

its google
do you really think they make it hard?
The filters are preset, although you can adjust them if you want. Imagine being able to do a google seacrh of your inbox, you can! Its really nice for finding that message you needed something out of. I got GMAIL invites e-mail me if anyone wants one (ryanmetcalf at gmail.com)

Phantom Flasher...
I get spam daily in my Gmail... Boooo... slightly less now I turned the catch all off on my domain... Well, a lot less! Before I'd get 50-500 emails a day, all spam... Now its down to 3-10 a day, some in my inbox, but more often in the spam folder.

I don't get anything but spam in my Hotmail account. As for my primary account I don't get any, because our addresses is not listed anywhere on the site (contact happens through a form). I don't even bother checking our catchall account.

Yeah, I've noticed that Yahoo filtering has gotten better, but I'm not sure if I like that new DomainKeys things--seems kinda sketchy.
Does anyone know if Gmail blacklists to delete?
