Has "jerky motion" gone ?
I use Flash quite a bit for detailed presentations and I really suffer from the "jerky motion" effect when slowly tracking across images. You know the little jumps and stutters as it shifts from pixel to pixel...
Sometimes it's just embarassing and I'm forever trying to think of ways I won't have to slow pan or zoom. I've been evaluating alternatives, but Flash is just so convenient in other ways...
Can anyone comment on this aspect of 8 ? I'm hoping, hoping...

No one knows yet ?

Create me an example movie that shows the problem and i will test it to see if it has gone or not. Infact you can also test it yourself by downloading the Flash 8 Player Beta from Macromedia.

If your talking about bitmaps I know the symptom you mean
It can usually be solved in several ways in the current flash player.
1) break apart your bitmap, place it in a mc and play around with placement (turn off the 'snap to pixel' feature)
2) in combination with the previous try slightly re-scaling the image, say to 99% or so
3) load the bitmap in from exernal as a .swf. make sure the swf your loading in has only 1 frame.
hope this helps
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

I think he's talking about sub pixel rendering of bitmaps...

Yep, sub pixel. Thanks for that link too - very interesting. 8 is finally looking like a reason to upgrade from MX :-)
