Why aren't new filters part of interface?

I'm really baffled as to why the new blend filters are not part of the general interface (in the same way that ALPHA, TINT, etc are simple options in a drop-down menu).

Is it simply because this stuff was dropped in at the last minute after the Adobe merger?

I was really expecting this stuff (blur, blend modes) to work in the same way and be tweenable in the timeline to boot.

    :-(

Oh awesome! I didn't even know I was in "Basic" mode. (I'm using the Trial version while waiting for Studio 8 to arrive).
