    Removing passwords

I'm an idiot. I typed in my usual password combination without looking at the keyboard and i've made an error. I have a zip file with important files in, which i cannot access for the life of me. I've tried every combination i would have used, so now i think i just hit a wrong key somewhere.

I used a hex editor and found the first part, but the rest is just rubbish.

So, does anyone know of a way to remove passwords from a zip file? And i don't mean cracking it, as it takes way too long.

    Oh, and freeware if possible!

thanks man, i've tried Brute force attacks.... I'm hoping there is something that just ignores the need for the password.... just anything that won't take a year - they need to know the password length, otherwise it's useless......

If you zipped the file, you should have the original files... sounds fishy to me!

They were personal files i wanted to password protect. I then deleted them (i guess i could just try recovering the files, but then again it was on my well used C drive about a month ago) from both sources. I was planning to back them up on CD today but hey, i left it too late and forgot the pw!!!
