    bear with me...

I use Flash about every 6 months on projects and forget stuff in between!

I have a series of movie clips that I want to sequentially play in order in a master movie clip, i.e., when the first the clip finishes playing, the second one starts, etc. without any button involvement. what is the script to have the event of the first clip ending start the second movie? also, can all the "child" movies be in the same frame in the "parent", or should they be in successive frames?

    thanks

They can all be in the same frame, just make sure to create a blank frame in the front of all of them with a stop action.

They will all be located on the main timeline, but stopped at an empty frame. Then at the end of the first movieclip, say "_parent.secondMC.gotoandPlay(2);" to start the 2nd one, and so on and so forth.

are you using "secondMC" and "2" as generic names that would be replaced by the name of the second movie clip?
