quality problem

I have noticed that every time I try to put a video into flash, the quality is horrible. it is made up of 1/8 x 1/16 of an inch boxes of color instead of a clear image. this makes it hard to add things in without them looking drawn. Is there a way to make the image clearer?

Coule you post a step by step guide of what you are doing, because the video should look pretty good. But this also depends on your settings.
