well the m3 is 3415 pounds....and the m5 is 4012 pounds 600 pounds difference but almost 200 more horse power in the m5....the m5 accelerates faster...but they do both have the same top speed..(that is the 06's though)

there is more to a sports car than going fast in a straight line. Through the twisties I believe an m3 shines over an m5. I could be wrong as i have no plans on buying either of those bmw products so i'm not up to date on their stats.

Its actually a special edition 3 series. ZHP with factory M-Specs and Dinan supercharger dyno-maxed at 360HP, so it's actually faster than a stock M3. I can jump off the line faster than a M5 but starts to pull past me at around 90, but not too concerned about top speed anyway.
