A Flash Kit Thanksgiving Day feast.

So, the final hour is upon us now to get dinner plans set. I took care of the pie and Chex mix so I can leave the major work for tomorrow. Who said vegetarians don't ever have anything to eat?

Anyone else have anything made already?

Wow I have so much to do still,
right now, working on 4 pies - 3 pumpkin, 1 pecan
later - sweet potatoes need to bake, still have to get the bird!
tomorrow - all the fixen's and about 15 people are coming over.

I do an ophan Thanksgiving every year, we always have a really good turnout.

lol at the turducken...you know madden will have his.

i'm at nordmotherinlaws, watching the gonzaga/uconn game. she made all the food today, as her soon to be new family will be 39 people strong. on friday, she is marrying a man with 5 children and 9 grandkids. she has 4 children and 10 grandkids already. throw in all 9 spouses, and that makes for a helluva lot of thanksgiving food. as a side note, nordfetus will make the 40th member of the new uber family.

it also snowed 4 inches here today...nordboy is freakin' lovin' it. we could hardly get him in the house. he's used to palm trees and sand, so this is truely exotic to him.

    gobble gobble....

Ah, these boys is all swelled up. So this was earlier...getting set to trade. Then, woooaaah differences.

we don't know, so nordfetus it is for now. nordboy thinks it's going to be a girl, but nordgal and i both think it will be another boy. we'll find out in 9 short weeks. if it's another boy, i'll have to think of another way to describe him to you good people. maybe nordboyduece?

Haha, the leaves are only around the picture as a border. In the middle are two pumpkin pies and the Chex mix lying out to dry off / cool down on some paper towels.

Don't worry about the tupperware. I've got it ready for leftovers.

Happy Thanksgiving, and good luck with the main meal. I hope Nordberg's mother-in-law doesn't burn up a mixer trying to make enough potatoes for all of those people!

And autumn leaves! (which is what I was reffering to in my first post... not your "creative" border!)

Haha, no, no leaves in it.

Chex mix is a mixture of "Chex" cereal (wheat / rice / corn Chex), pretzels, and peanuts. It's then tossed so you can evenly coat it with a mixture of butter, garlic powder, soy sauce, and seasoned salt. Then the mixture's baked for 15 minutes at 350 (F), and when it's done, you have a delicious snack.

Awesome Admedia! I can't wait to try the "Muddy Buddy" recipe. I might have to rent some kids for all the other party ideas on there.
