Optimizing Files Question - Please Help

I have an SWF that's set at 60FPS but it still tends to chug a little bit especially when there are 2 or more objects animating at the same time.

Does anyone have any tips on optimizing files in order to make them run faster and more smoothly?

Any tips would be helpful at this point.

    Thanks

I would try to use AS instead of frame/timeline tweens, for you animations...

this will help with file size, CPU usage...and overall smoothness.

    A lot of actionscript

There is a lot of actionscript used to create movement. Slow downs happen when the actionscript is running as well as manually created animations.

Actionscripts are stopped when they have reached their destination. But even the movement seems slow with actionscript.

    Any thoughts?

yes the thoughts are that you have multiple frame/timeline "tweens" running at the same time.

what are the specs of the computer you are using? can you post an example for us to look at? maybe only happening on that system?

    I am running on a 2.4Ghz P4.

Unfortunately it's a work project that's confidential. I don't have any versions that I can show that contains the slow down.

Thanks anyways for all the advice and help.
