I have a problem with a rectangular object that i wish to motion tween into a longer rectangle. one side extends: when the movie plays, though, all the four border lines expand into thick lines while being tweened before they drop into their proper thin lines when the sequence has ended. does anybody know what's going wrong there - or do i have to to make a frame by frame animation for this kind of thing? Is it because they are freehand-imported shapes?

when motion tweening sizes the shapes are resized as one object that is why the lines look larger during the tweening.
Syncronizing symbols might help...

Also, Try start the shape out big and then making it a symbol, from there, resize it to your first keyframe. This way, Flash kindof know that it shouldn't make its lines fatter than they already are. Cheers, Steve
