well the first thing the octopus did was it wrapped its tentacales around the shark, and then turned it upside down, sharks need to stay right side up and constantly moving or else they die, so essentially what the octopus did is the same thing a killer would do, grabbed you from behind and choked you out.

Many smaller sharks like this go into a sort of paralyzed immobile state when you turn them upside down. I've seen video where divers just flip the shark by its tail and it stops dead in its tracks.

Octopuses are apparently very intelligent, so it was was really a match of brains, and the octopus knew how to take down the shark. What I'd be really interested in knowing is if it actually ate the shark (video says shark carcases were found, but didn't say if they were half eaten or munched on). I was under the impression that they ate things like crabs and small fish...3 foot sharks

There are a large number of non-Lamnidae species which can survive sitting still indefinitely.

Oh damn that was cool! Screw sharks, next summer it's all about people getting eaten by octopi: film at 11.

Apparently not. Looks like it does have the new UI, engadget just confirmed for us all. I still stick with my "God save Motorola" motto though

Just watched a nature movie about octopi and squids. The one in this movie looks like one they filmed, and they said it's a dangerous breed, in that it can inject venom to paralize it's victims. More than enough to kill an adult human in seconds.
